Vaccinations for Zimbabwe — 2026 Guide

Zimbabwe requires a Yellow Fever certificate for travellers arriving from endemic countries. For direct arrivals from the UK, US, or Europe, no vaccinations are mandatory. However, several vaccines are strongly recommended, particularly for Victoria Falls and safari visitors.

Yellow Fever: Required only if arriving from an endemic country (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, etc.). Direct flights from UK, US, or South Africa do NOT require it. However, if your route transits through an endemic country, carry the certificate.

Rabies in Zimbabwe: Rabies is a significant concern in Zimbabwe. Stray dogs, baboons, and vervet monkeys around Victoria Falls and safari camps can transmit rabies. Post-exposure treatment availability in rural Zimbabwe is limited, making pre-exposure vaccination especially important. Victoria Falls town has rabies cases reported regularly.

COVID-19 Requirements (2026)
