Birth Registration for Children Born Abroad
Important Deadline
Births must be registered within 12 months of the child's birth to avoid penalties and complications.
Required Documents
- Foreign birth certificate (original and certified copy)
- Both parents' passports (originals and copies)
- Both parents' birth certificates
- Parents' marriage certificate (if applicable)
- Completed birth registration form
- Child's passport-sized photos (2)
- Proof of parents' residence abroad
Registration Process
- Contact the nearest Zimbabwe embassy to schedule an appointment
- Complete the birth registration form
- Gather all required documents
- Attend appointment with both parents (if possible)
- Pay the registration fee
- Receive certificate of registration
